Rental Policy

• Age of Drivers: The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years. Maximum age is 75 years.
• Driver’s license: The driver must have a valid driver’s license, issued at least 12 months prior to the rental date. Citizens of EU, USA, CANADA, UK, Australia countries are required to have their normal driver’s license, all other countries require an international driver’s license.

For scooters and motorcycles up to 125cc, Greek law requires an EU A1 driver’s license or a non-EU motorcycle license. For vehicles over 125cc, an A or A2 license and a full motorcycle license are required for non-EU drivers. Please note that in Greece it is necessary to have an A1 motorcycle license to drive a scooter with an engine size above 50cc, even if you have a B license that allows you to drive a 125cc scooter in your country.

• Payment: You can book your vehicle and pay when you start your rental. The rental fee is payable upon arrival at the start of the rental.
• Guarantee: We need a credit card as guarantee.
• Fuel: Paid by the customer. The customer is obliged to return the vehicle with the fuel tank at the same level as at the start of the rental (Fair Fuel Policy). If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged the fuel difference. No refunds are given for vehicles returned with more fuel than collected.
• Minimum rental fee: One day (morning to evening).
• Traffic offenses – fines: All traffic fines incurred during the rental period are paid by the customer.
• Lost keys: In the event of a vehicle key being lost, we provide the customer with their 2nd key. The customer is required to pay for the re-issuance of the key, which can cost between 100 and 250 euros depending on the type of key.
• Travel outside Santorini: It is forbidden for any of our vehicles to go outside Santorini.
• Car delivery: The customer is obliged to return the vehicle at the exact time indicated in the contract. More than 1 hour delay will be charged 20 euros/hour and for more than 5 hours delay will be charged an extra day.
• Kid’s seat: There is no additional charge for child seats and availability is upon request.
• Additional driver: Additional drivers/drivers are free. All additional drivers are subject to the same policy as the primary driver regarding age, driver’s license, etc.
• Kilometers: Our prices include unlimited kilometers.
• Other: The following damages will be charged directly to the customer: broken radios/mp3/usb ports etc., ashtrays, child seats / boosters, fuel differences, broken car gauges, levers, torn seats. It is the customer’s responsibility to use the vehicle in the most appropriate manner.

Reservations:

All bookings are checked and then you receive a confirmation message if the driver’s details meet the rental requirements and the vehicle is available.

All bookings are based on a group of vehicles and not a specific car model. In the event of unavailability for a confirmed booking, our company reserves the right to offer a higher class vehicle to the customer at no extra charge.

For delivery or collection from 00:00 to 06:59 there the extra charge is €30.

Delivery or collection outside the specified locations:

Deliveries – pick-ups of vehicles outside the designated locations from our office, will have an additional charge that will depend on the place of pick-up – delivery.

Delivery – pick up after hours:

For delivery or collection from 07:00 to 08:00 and from 22:00 to 23:59 the additional charge is €10

Insurances

Our vehicles are insured for damage to third parties except

• Driver and passengers.
• Our vehicle as required by Greek legislation.

In addition, we offer Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) insurance, which are optional and cover the driver’s liability for the rental car.

SCDW – Collision Damage Relief:

The renter’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle may be reduced to a minimum charge:

• €1500 for all groups of cars with an additional €10 per day.
• €800 for all car groups paying an additional €20 per day.
• €1000 for all scooters paying an additional €6 per day.
• €500 for all scooters with an additional €10 per day.
• 1500€ for quadruple – ATV with an additional 10€ per day.
• 800€ for quadruple – ATV with an additional 20€ per day.

For all other vehicles CDW can be provided by arrangement.

Please note that violating the rental terms and conditions, such as driving off-road or under the influence of alcohol or other substances, causing an accident on purpose or maliciously damaging the vehicle, will void your CDW or SCDW insurance. It is important to drive responsibly and obey all traffic laws and regulations.

No insurance covers tire damage, damage under or inside the vehicle, damage to the interior of the vehicle as well as loss/theft of personal items, loss of keys or engine damage caused by wrong fuel.

Car accident:

In the event of a traffic accident, you should immediately inform our company and the police. A police report is mandatory. Without a police report, the renter assumes full responsibility. In the event of an accident due to the renter’s responsibility, the renter has the obligation to pay our company a non-refundable fee to cover administrative costs and the cost of repairing the damage to the vehicle.

Terms and Conditions of Use of our Vehicles

• When renting a vehicle from Santorini Driver Rental, it is important that you comply with the following terms and conditions.
• You must never drive on gravel roads or roads whose surface, size or condition pose a risk to the Vehicle, such as beaches, rough roads, trails, mountains, etc., or any unauthorized or unpaved road.
• Do not use the vehicle for purposes that exceed its capacity or authorized use, such as transporting goods, driving lessons, pushing or towing another vehicle or trailer, or driving on unsuitable or unauthorized roads.
• Return the vehicle, the relevant key and all accessories provided in the same condition as when you received them at the end of the rental period.
• Drive the vehicle in accordance with traffic laws and regulations and ensure that you are familiar with local traffic and driving rules.
• Never drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, barbiturates or any substance (legal or illegal) that may affect or impair your ability to drive.
• Santorini Driver rental reserves the right to demand the immediate return of the vehicle.
• We will refuse the rental if we believe the driver is unsafe for any reason (eg lack of skills, suspected alcohol use, etc.).
