Museum of Prehistoric Thera
Located in Fira, it houses findings from Akrotiri as well as other excavations on the island.
The museum displays frescoes, jewelry, pottery, and other objects from the Minoan period.
It covers the prehistoric history of Santorini, from the Neolithic era to the peak of Akrotiri.
Ancient Thera
This archaeological site is located at the top of Mesa Vouno mountain, above Kamari.
It includes ruins of a city from the Classical and Hellenistic periods, such as houses, marketplaces, temples, and public buildings.
Skáros Rock
Skáros Rock is a natural and geological site with historical significance. At its summit, there used to be a Venetian castle, the “Skáros Castle.”
It is a popular hiking spot, offering stunning views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea.
Although the castle was destroyed by earthquakes, the remains still reflect its strategic importance in earlier times.
Akrotiri Lighthouse
The lighthouse is located at the tip of Akrotiri and is a historic 19th-century lighthouse.
It offers stunning views of the sunset, as it is built in a beautiful and secluded location.
It is a very romantic and picturesque spot, perfect for photography.
Amoudi Bay
Amoudi is located below Oia, on the steep sides of the cliffs.
It features picturesque houses and fish taverns built along the shoreline.
There are about 200 steps connecting the top of Oia to the bay, making it popular for walks.
It is also the connection point to Thirasia.
Red Beach
Located in Akrotiri, near the Akrotiri archaeological site. A unique beach with red sand.
Koutsogiannopoulos Wine Museum & Winery
A very unique wine museum, built inside natural caves (a labyrinth) about 8 meters underground.
An audio guide explains the traditional winemaking process, from vineyard cultivation to grape harvesting and wine production.
At the end of the tour, visitors have the opportunity to taste 4 of the winery’s wines in a specially designed tasting area.
